About Emma
With a background in biological research, and a subsequent training and qualification in Counselling, I became interested in Homeopathy as an alternative to what I perceived as unsatisfactory conventional medical treatment for various family health issues. When my first child was born, I took her to see a Homeopath as an alternative
to the antibiotics repeatedly offered to her for frequent ear infections. The homeopathic help she received resolved the problems with her ears and we, as a family continued to use homeopathy. My later decision to study to become a homeopath was as a result of being drawn to the gentle, holistic and non invasive approach of homeopathy and it made sense to me to be working with the body, listening to its signs and symptoms and treating the whole person and the underlying causes of disease rather than suppressing
symptoms.
I initially studied for a foundation course in Homeopathy and then went on to complete another four year’s of study gaining a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine, from the Yorkshire School of Homeopathy in 2007. Within this period of training I received extensive educational and clinical training in homeopathy and allied sciences.
Further to this I have completed post graduate training for three years with Madeline Evans, author of Meditative Provings, using chakras as a framework for facilitating deep emotional healing and within this group I regularly took part in homeopathic provings. I am committed to continuing professional development attending
various courses and seminars, study groups and carrying out my own research into disease and homeopathic remedies. I also attend regular supervision sessions. I am involved with The Travelling Homeopath, a registered charity that offers a mobile Homeopathic clinic at outdoor events and festivals in the UK. This is done on a voluntary basis.
My practice encompasses people of all ages with a wide variety of conditions – very much a practice for the whole family.
I am a professional homeopath and not a medical doctor, and therefore those who work with me should retain the services of a primary care physician for appropriate evaluations and check-ups for themselves and/or their children.
I am a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths which acts as a national regulatory body for qualified homeopaths that have been professionally trained and practise according to the strict Codes of Ethics and Practice. I am fully insured as a member of the Society.
